Mrs. Peterson’s English 10 students took a trip to the Sheboygan Courthouse as they prepare for their mock trial in May! Thanks to Resource Officer Meyer, they had the opportunity to connect with the Honorable Judge Bastil from Circuit Court Branch 1. As a bonus, County Clerk Courtney Hartmann helped guide the tour!

Why Random Lake?💡
At Random Lake High School, students don’t just learn about careers—they experience them! Thanks to our K-12 Academic & Career Planning (ACP), we rank near the top of ALL Sheboygan County high schools in Youth Apprenticeship (YA) applications and upperclassmen placements.
From health care to construction to manufacturing, our students are gaining hands-on experience that sets them up for success.
Want to learn more about how ACP can open doors for your student? Reach out to Mr. Frias at jfrias@rladvantage.org! #RandomLakeAdvantage #CareerReady #HandsOnLearning

Reading is always a work in progress! 🏗️📚 Our 5th graders got a firsthand look at construction in action, tying into this year’s Read Across Random theme—Building Readers: ‘Under Construction.’ 🔨👷♂️

The Battle of the Books Competition has officially ended for the 2024/2025 season. Thank you to everyone who participated! Like last year, all three divisions competed at the state level.
In the elementary division, 39 fourth and fifth-grade students read and answered questions to twenty book titles. The winning student team of Skylar Dupies, Hazel TeStroote, Josie Grube, and Brooklyn Kichura earned the most points and represented Random Lake Elementary School at the state battle. Two teacher teams also participated! "New Kids on the Block," a team consisting of Ms. Beck, Ms. Howell, Ms. Riechers, and Ms. Heimerman, beat out "Nacho Average Book Club," which consisted of Ms. Theis, Ms. Keller, Ms. VanderVelden, and Ms. Argue.
In middle school, 23 students participated this year. All teams were responsible for reading twenty chapter books of varying genres and reading levels. After four reading battles, the team consisting of Maggie Masterson, Paisley Pratsch, and Lily Berlick earned the most points and represented the school at the state level!
Random Lake High School sent a team to the state-level competition for the third year in a row! This team consisted of sophomores Mason Casper, Griffin Donahue, and RJ Leider.
Thank you again to F.O.R. Kids for funding the winning teams' cash prizes and the end-of-the-season pizza party for elementary and middle school students! We appreciate your support.

Last Friday, Mrs. Riechers' 5th graders took on a fun team-building challenge! 🎉 Students had to work together—without talking—to build a cup stack. The activity tested their perseverance and resilience as they found creative ways to communicate, strategize, and improve with each round. A great lesson in teamwork and problem-solving!

This afternoon, RLHS had a pep rally to send off our wrestlers and esports team to state! We also welcomed RLHS alumna Miranda Hurley, now a Clinical Coordinator for Radiologic Technology at Ascension St. Joseph. She encouraged students to "get involved" and shared valuable advice for those considering a career in healthcare.
Best of luck to our athletes, and thank you, Miranda, for inspiring the next generation!
